Pokemon Go Lost 12 Million Players in August

Pokemon Go shook the gaming world in last month with the novel augmented reality gaming experience. Everyone, and every website talked about this game and even Hillary Clinton made use of it in one of her campaign events. Things go up fast and they also go down fast. In August we no longer talked about this game everyday, and we heard that many players had quit.

ArsTechnica reported that the latest tracking data from Sensor Tower, SurveyMonkey, and Apptopia suggested that over 12 million players stopped playing this game in August alone. They wrote that the game had a peak number of 45 million players in July but it had just over 30 million now. The number is expected to continue to go down.

The game is interesting and also uncompleted. It’s not surprising that players quit playing. I personally believe the game still has a good future, as new features and fixes are deployed. And don’t forget that the game hasn’t launched in China yet.
